In this interactive webinar February 26, 2025 at 10:00 AM CST, Hart Energy invites you to join in exploring the growing oil-output potential of the Uinta Basin in a conversation with Top 5 Uinta producer Scout Energy Partners' Juan Nevarez and longtime Uinta explorer Duchesne River Resources' Riley Brinkerhoff.
With takeaway unleashed, drillers are taking Utah’s stacked oily pay horizontal -- at last. Recently unconstrained by new rail capacity, operators are now producing nearly 200,000 bbl/d from the western Uinta, dramatically changed from the lingering 100,000 bbl/d cap that had been in place when Salt Lake City was the only economic market the waxy crude could reach. And it comes with little associated gas and little water, making it compete with the Permian Basin.
What You'll Learn
- Why the Uinta's waxy oil output had been constrained by physics and market conditions in the past and why there is no limit today to how much can be produced.economically.
- The basin's geology and its prospectivity for as many as 17 layers of oil pay.
- How the Uinta's waxy oil, which is prized among refiners and petrochemical operators, lifts economics further to overcome transportation costs.
- The outlook for the continued business-friendly nature of the state.
- How to participate in this renewed Lower 48 oil play.
