At the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Simon qualified with a BSC. in Geology and an MSc in Geochemistry. Working firstly at Petro Canada in Calgary exploring on the East Coast of Canada where the newly discovered gas resources of the Scotian Shelf and oil resources offshore Newfoundland were being discovered. He then joined a major oil and gas consultancy, Robertson Research, as a technical scientist before moving to a series of commercial and managerial positions. This was followed by a move to Reservoir Group in 2011 and an MBO of Interica in 2013 where Simon has followed his passion for great data management practices and the opportunities that the digital transformation provides to improve workflows and exploration and production effectiveness. Following the purchase of Interica by CSI in 2020 he continues to lead and define Interica’s forward path.
